Visitors might be surprised that one of Austin’s buzziest restaurants fields orders at the counter, fast-casual style. But it lends an intimate and conversational atmosphere that allows Birdie’s to offer more equitable pay to its workers across the board. It’s the kind of restaurant/wine bar hybrid that we’re excited to see. The menu and wines change with weather and moods. But be sure to tell them a little birdie told you to ask for the “off-list” wine list.
